Anna Kulikov
Co-Editor-in-Chief
Anna has been part of the Incite family since her first year at McMaster. As a writer, editor, and level ten wizard, she believes in the liberal spirit and guiding principles behind Incite. She is a courageous local explorer, an AK47-wielding critic, but a much more pleasant editor-in-chief. Her religious texts are Rilke’s Letters to a Young Poet and her guilty pleasures olives and Star Trek reruns.
Sam Colbert
Co-Editor-in-Chief
Be it for his wealth of talent, his irrepressible charm or his dashing good looks, Sam has been given the opportunity to co-manage Incite’s editorial board this year, for which he is very grateful. An enthusiastic member of student media on campus, he has developed a strong passion for correct comma use. His time with Incite, both as a reader and a contributor, has encouraged him to understand and enjoy life’s quirks from new perspectives. Sam, a lifelong Hamiltonian, is in his fourth and final year at McMaster.
Irena Papst
Managing Editor, Layout
Irena spent her infancy in Croatia, her childhood in Rexdale and her adolescence in Mississauga. She is now in her third year of a combined honours Arts & Science and Mathematics degree. She hopes to one day prove that pi is actually a rational number, thus making mass $dollars$, which would allow her to retire early and pursue her true passion: wine tasting.
Ianitza Vassileva
Managing Editor, Graphics
Blurb coming soon.
Jeremy Henderson
Content Editor
Jeremy, hailing from both semi-Northern and actual-Northern Ontario, came to Hamilton in 2009 eager to experience one-way streets and try Indian food for the first time. When not paralyzed into inaction by the bright lights of the big city, Jeremy enjoys biking, riding GO trains, drinking grotesquely-expensive coffee, and plotting to marry into the Kennedy family. He’s also been to Liechtenstein. It was okay.
Matthew was born at a young age on a very slow news day. He hopes to live forever or die trying. Matthew enjoys procrastination, archaic words and oral hygiene. Chief among his many dislikes are the Harvard comma and everything to do with the word “vinegar.” Although much given to introspection, he struggles with self-identifying and penning autobiographical blurbs. He apologizes. As a newcomer to the Incite team, Matthew hopes the experience will be rewarding and fulfilling.
Jane van Koeverden
Content Editor
Jane has a “Keep it Real” attitude that makes her very popular amongst a few people. She shares a birthday with the Great Depression, which she, irrationally, claims is the reason for her cynicism and fear of people with excessive cheer (clowns included). Her interests include trashy forms of entertainment media, mayonnaise and talking about being from a small town. Jane has previously contributed to Incite as a writer and earned a spot on the editing team after submitting a salacious review of McMaster nightclub TwelvEighty. It was never printed, but that’s beside the point. Anyway, she is uncharacteristically excited to spend the year ahead with the awesome people at Incite.
Kate Sinclair
Content Editor
Kate learned to write along with everyone else in kindergarten and hasn’t improved much since. She leads an idyllic suburban life in a nondescript place not far from here. She is very serious about the type of pens she uses. A student of the Arts and Science Program (and self-described polymath), Kate finds creative ways to justify not having a true major. Altogether Kate is a friendly sort of a person. She likes tea, new stationary, and words like piffle and falsetto. She is very excited to be working on the editorial team and looks forward to a great year ahead!
Shawn is a hideous beast in a young man’s body, a delusional bad-ass with a flair for interior design and aged cheeses. Studies have shown he is the reincarnation of the last Dodo bird. His emotions are so deeply rooted in nature that he is a pathetic fallacy. When he’s not writing for Incite, he’s biking through Westdale cursing at hipsters in foreign languages. He has received high praise for his finely shaped head. Shawn is best known for having invented Pad-Thai.
